Roland Laurense tennisacademy AmsterdamHow it all began
Roland was born in Tilburg, and lives nowadays in Amsterdam. He began his career at the CIOS-college (KNLTB A + B) in Sittard. Naturally he chose tennis as his specialization. During his internship, Laurense was already working with famous players like Martin Verkerk (ATP 14), Stefanie Rottier (WTA 93) and Mirjam Oremans (WTA 38). After finishing his CIOS study, Laurense moved to America, to work at "Van der Meer Tennis Academy" in Hilton Head. Here Laurense completed the USPTR professional training. This achievement gave Laurense the opportunity to work as a "Tennis coach World Class" with the best performing youth players.


Coach
In September 1997 Laurense returned to Amstelpark where he initially trained youth and senior players, but after obtaining his KNLTB-C diploma in 1999, Laurense moved up to train the top selection. From 2003 to 2005 Laurense was partly responsible for the top group including Nick van der Meer (ATP 342), Igor Sijsling (ATP 164), Thomas Schoorel (ATP 94) en Melle van Gemerden (ATP 100). Laurense also trained many National champions in the categories to 12, to 14, to 16 and to 18. Next to these successes he coached competition teams up to and including the Premier division for eight years.

Entrepreneur
In the end of 2005 Laurense decided that the development of talent had to be done different and better. He started a new tennis academy. The goals and ambitions of Laurense were and are very ambitious. In a short amount of time Laurense proved he can start and run a prestigious tennis academy. On a daily basis, many talents are practicing to achieve the highest potential of their talents. In 2011 Laurense get an unique possibility to start a new tennis academy with John van Lottum and Sven Groeneveld. A chance that comes ones in a life-time.

Mission
Since 2006, Laurense is developing a new trainings method which will use modern tools like internet and social networks. Nowadays innovative methods are required to maximize the potential of the players. Therefore Laurense is always searching for new innovations to improve the players and coaches of the academy.
